Chandigarh May 24 (UNI) There has been seven per cent reduction in aggregate transmission and commercial (AT&C) losses in the area of the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) during the last fiscal year against the given target of six per cent.
''The AT&C losses have come down from 32.4 per cent last during the year 2006-07 to 25.4 per cent during 2007-08,'' Mr Ashok Lavasa said here today while addressing a meeting of senior officers of the DHBVN.
The meeting was called to review operation activities of the Nigam that was attended by Lt Gen (Retd) O S Lohchab, Chairman Haryana Power T&D Corporations, Mr V Umashankar, Managing Director, DHBVN, M L Goyal, Director and Mr D S Yadav, Director along with all chief general managers and general managers.
Mr Lavasa said the considerable reduction in the AT&C losses had been possible due to better management and improved transmission and distribution system.
The government had fixed a target to bring down the AT&C losses to 15 per cent in two years. He asked the officers to fix circlewise and divisionwise targets for reduction in losses, he said.
The areas having higher losses should be given higher targets which would be easy to achieve.
