Bright students should take up teaching: Jamir
Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir has observed that the country was facing an acute shortage of good teachers, as a majority of the best students are opting for careers in Engineering, IT and other professions.
The Governor was addressing the students at the first international graduating function of the Ecole Mondile World School at Juhu here, yesterday.
Mr Jamir said only few students are turning to the pure sciences and still fewer are taking up teaching as a profession. He said that some of the talented students should take up teaching and help raise the standard of the profession.
Mr Jamir also presented graduation certificates to around 65 students on the occasion.
