BJP lashes out at coalition for ''politicising'' Amarnath Yatra
Jammu, May 24 (UNI) Lashing out at the Congress-led coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bhartiya Janata Party's (BJP) state unit today alleged that some inimical elements have joined to vitiate the annual pilgrimage of the Shri Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to commence from June 18 in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference this afternoon, BJP state president Ashok Khajuria said, ''The Yatra is being politicised after the coalition failed to counter it on ecology plank.
''The government has started mobilising all the channels and lobbying for a non-Hindu Governor with a clandestine motive of taking over the control of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board from the Raj Bhawan and to intentionally curtail the Yatra period to one month.'' Mr Khajuria said that the ''name'' being projected as the Jammu and Kashmir Governor is a known ''sympathiser'' of separatists, who stands for the division of Jammu and Ladakh provinces on communal lines.
''These communalists have already done damage to their own ethos and seem to be now hell-bent on dividing the state on communal lines,'' he said, adding that the projection of the name of Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha has been done for vote bank politics by inciting communal sentiment against the pilgrimage.
