Authorities send postal ballots through courier, tension prevails
Kolar Gold Fields, May 24 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the town over the delivery of postal ballots in respect of Karnataka Assembly elections for Kolar Gold Field (KGF) Assembly seat, which were sent through a private courier to the election authorities.
Raising objections, the JD(S) said the ballot papers should be sent through postal authorities and not by private courier.
However, the BJP did not find fault in sending the ballot papers through private courier and demanded that the Returning Officer should accept it.
It was estimated that there might be 350 ballot papers in ten bundles.
The polling for KGF (Reserved) constitutency was held in the first phase on May 10.
