37 students injured as school bus overturnes
Hoshiarpur, May 24 (UNI) As many as 37 school students from Jammu and Kashmir on way to an excursion to Ludhiana, were injured when their mini bus overturned on a bridge at Rehlan village near Dasuya on Jalandhar-Pathankot National highway today.
According to police, all the injured students were shifted to Civil Hospital, Dasuya, from where one student Vikrant was referred to DMC, Ludhiana in critical condition.
Police said that 43 students of DAV Collegiate School, Lachhipur, Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir) were going on an excursion to Hardy World, Ludhiana.
Near Rehlan bridge, the driver of a car ahead suddenly applied brakes forcing the bus driver also to slam on the brakes, due to which the vehicle lost balance and overturned.
The students are still under treatment in the hospital, the police said.
