24 players get AIFF introductory coaching certificates
Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) Twenty-four players, including 10 women, were today awarded certificates at the conclusion of a six-week All India Football Federation introductory coaching course conduted by federation Director (coaching) Gabriel Joseph at St Stephen's School here.
The introductory coaching course was conducted in the city for the first time. The Chandigarh Football Association has requested the AIFF to conduct the introductory coaching course here.
The CFA is also planning to organise another such course for the physical education teachers of the Chandigarh Education Department.
After that the association will request the AIFF to conduct Asian Football Confederation C Licence coaching course next year.
Speaking on the occasion, National Master Coach, who has already conducted 30 AFC/AIFF courses and has trained over 800 coaches, said that last year a separate introductory coaching course for women was conducted in Goa. The CFA can send up to three women for coaching course next year.
Participants were happy to attend the course and requested the CFA and the AIFF to conduct more such as well as advanced coaching courses.
CFA vice-president Jagbir Singh was the chief guest at the certificate distribution function.
