Vedanti fears life threat from terrorist organisation

Ayodhya, May 23 (UNI) Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas member and former MP Dr Ram Vilas Das Vedanti today expressed his fear of threat to his life by a terror outfit.

''On May 21, I received two threatening calls on my cell phone, warning me to change my behaviour or be ready to die,'' Mr Vedanti told UNI.

''The anonymous callers asked me to plead mercy from Indian Parliament attack accused Afzal Guru, quit Vishwa Hindu Parishad, speak less on temple issue and maintain silence against terrorists,'' he said.

From dialect, the first caller sounded a UPite, while the second caller from any other state, the Nyas member claimed.

Giving details fegarding the calls, Police Superintendent (city) Gopesh Nath Khanna said both the calls were made from a PCO, while one call was made at 0900 hrs from Subhashnagar area, the other was made around 0930 hrs from Gudri bazaar.

So far, the probe does not reveal hand of any terrorist organisation, the SP added.

Investigation into the matter is on.
