Suspected terrorist held at Mecca Masjid

Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) A 20-year-old youth, suspected to have links with terrorist organisations, was arrested at Mecca Masjid during the Friday prayers here today.

Talking to Mediapersons here, Chandrayanagutta Circle Inspector Faiyaz said the special police teams deployed at the Masjid had taken Khaiser Mannan into their custody when his movement caused suspicion to them.

In the initial investigation, police found that Mr Khaiser hailed from Maharastra. He was being interrogated to ascertain his links with any terrorist organsiation.

After the May 18 bomb blasts, triggered by the suspected Harkat-Ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI) terrorists, in the masjid last year, security had been tightened at the masjid premises and arrested several youth, when they were moving under suspicious circumstances.
