Outstanding ministers, MLAs awarded

Bhopal, May 23 (UNI) Five legislators, five ministers, six journalists and five Assembly officials were today presented excellence awards by the Madhya Pradesh Assembly for their outstanding performance during 2004-08.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee presented the awards at a function at the Assembly auditorium.

The award comprise Rs 21,000 in cash, citation, silver memento and a shawl.

Dr Narottam Mishra, Mr Anup Mishra, Mr Narendra Singh Tomar, Mr Himmat Kothari and Mr Raghavji were presented with Outstanding minister award. Mr Tomar who resigned as minister is state BJP president at present.

Outstanding Legislator Awardees include Mr Lal Singh Arya, Mr Brijendra Singh Rathore, Mr Satydeo Katare, Mr Durgalal Vijay and Mrs Saroj Bachhan Nayak.

Journalists Mr Arun Patel (Amrit Sandesh), Mr Mringendra Singh (Jagaran), Mr Raghavendra Singh (Bhaskar), Mr Pankaj Pathak (Nava Bharat), Mr Anjani Kumar Jha (Hindustan Samachar) and Mr Prkash Tiwari (Sahara) were given outstanding journalist award.

Outstanding legislative official award were given to Dr Pramod Rege (Director), Mr Khalid Mohammad Khan(section officer), Satish Bhargava (marshal), Mr Vijay Kumar Dwivedi(Assistant Grade3) and Jagdish Prasad Soni(Daftari).

Lauding the award presentation as unique initiative of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Mr Chatterjee said he was also keen to introduce such awards in the Lok Sabha, but financial constraints came in the way.
