Notorious criminal Anil Sharma escapes from RIMS

Ranchi, May 23 (UNI) Notorious criminal Anil Sharma, mainly active in Bihar and Jharkhand, now undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) escaped today.

Senior Superintendent of Police Maninder Singh Bhatia confirmed Sharma'a escape from the hospital adding that five policemen on duty were suspended.

''We are looking into the details leading to the incident,'' he said.

Anil was brought to the Hotwar jail here on remand from Bihar, Mr Bhatia said adding that he was admitted to the RIMS few days ago.

The criminal was involved in several cases of murder and extortion.
