Kathmandu, May 23 : The Nepal Government has formed a three-member commission headed by former Supreme Court justice Rajendra Kumar Bhandari to probe the mysterious murder of Ram Hari Shrestha who was killed by the Maoist Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA) in captivity.

According to Nepalnews, a cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister Office (PMO) in the Singha Durbar took the decision.

The commission has senior police officer Amar Singh Shah and Deputy Attorney General Sarad Raj Gautam as members and has been given a 15-day deadline to submit their findings to the government.

The government's decision to establish a probe commission came following continuous protests by the kin of Shrestha, who was killed after being abducted on the charge of being involved in theft of Rs 1.7 million from Maoist workers who used to stay in a rented apartment at his residence.
