Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) Prices of edible oils, particularly groundnut and sunflower refined oils, touched a new high today at Rs 700 and Rs 710 per ten kgs respectively owing to shortage of ready stocks and firm advice from producing centres mainly Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and some northern regions.

In seeds, groundnut karad, kardi and sesameseed prices also rose between Rs 50 and Rs 100 per quintal owing to heavy demand from millers, induced by bullish advice from Rajkot and others. In oils, groundnut raw, sunflower expeller refined also jumped up by Rs ten each and was quoted at a new peak this year at Rs 700 for groundnut raw and for sunflower at Rs 710 on lack of offers by stockists in view of lesser stocks arrivals from producing centres.

Similarly. cottonseed refined, rice brand and linseed oils were also in limelight on good bulk consumers and industrial users demand.

But palmolein refined eased by Rs four and was quoted low at Rs 568 per ten kgs on sluggish demand from retailers, traders of the Bombay Commodity Exchange said here today.
