Finland, Haryana explore areas of bilateral cooperation
Chandigarh, May 23 (UNI) Finland and Haryana today discussed possibilities of seeking mutual cooperation in the areas of education, especially setting up knowledge park, technical university, research, development and waste management.
A Finnish delegation led by Vice President of Lahti University of Applied Sciences Juhani Nieminen had a meeting with Haryana Chief Secretary Dharam Vir here.
Mr Nieminen sought Haryana's cooperation in establishing a knowlege park and transfer of technology.
He said education in Finland was funded by the state and the country had made a tremendous progress in the areas of IT, telecommunication and power.
He added Finland could learn from the experience of Haryana.
Mr Nieminen invited a delegation of senior officers of Haryana to Finland to see for themselves the progress made by this Scandinavian country and explore possibilities of mutual cooperation.
The Chief Secretary offered Haryana government's cooperation in case Finland had a plan to set up a technology park.
He also suggested setting up an educational campus in any of the educational areas specially marked in Haryana.
He sought Finland's help in setting up waste management units in Haryana.
He also assured all help of the state government to facilitate setting up of Finnish ventures in Haryana.
