Punjab Cong calls emergency meeting on May 24
Amritsar, May 22 (UNI) An urgent meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will be held on May 24 at the residence of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, who is also the Leader of the Congress Legislature wing.
In a Press Release issued here today CLP spokesman Pratap Singh Bajwa said that the meeting had been called to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation of the state and vandalism by the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP during the Amritsar South bypoll and the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls held on May 12.
The meeting will be presided over by Mrs Bhattal. An observer from the All India Congress Committee shall also attend this important meeting.
Further course of action of the party to challenge the undemocratic policies of the SAD-BJP will be chalked out at the meeting.
