Mike Tyson to spearhead Madonna's Raising Malawi campaign

Washington, May 22 : 'Material Girl' Madonna's campaign to help impoverished nation Malawi has found a supporter in former boxing champion Mike Tyson.

Ever since Madonna adopted her son David Banda from a Malawi orphanage in 2006, she has become emotionally attached with the African country.

She is desperate to raise enough money to improve the people's standard of living there.

Her campaign also aims at raising awareness of diseases like AIDS.

Sources have revealed that Madonna met Tyson at the Cannes International Film Festival earlier this week, and asked him to spearhead her Raising Malawi charity effort.

"Madonna thinks Mike is amazing and he has promised to fly with her to Malawi in late summer to promote awareness of children with AIDS there," Contactmusic quoted a source as telling British newspaper the Daily Mirror.

"Mike is eager to show he's turned over a new leaf and thinks this is the perfect way to do it," the source added.
