Karunanidhi hails UPA govt's achievements
Chennai, May 22 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today greeted Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and AICC President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on the government at the Centre completing four years in office and wished that it would complete the full five year term without any hitch.
In a brief chat with newspersons after chairing a review meeting at the state Secretariat here, he said he spoke to Dr Singh and Ms Sonia Gandhi and conveyed his greetings to them for successfully completing four years in office and stepping into the fifth year.
He also recalled the various achievements of the UPA government, in which the DMK was a key constituent, during the last four years like granting of classical status to Tamil language, providing 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in centrally run institutions, among others.
He wished that the UPA government would continue its good work in its fifth year also.
