Court orders proper distribution of essential items

Imphal, May 22 (UNI) Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench, has directed the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West District, Manipur to distribute Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS), specially kerosene.

It has also made it clear that the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, is to complete the exercise within a month from the date of receipt of the judgment and order of the court.

Incidentally, this was the first time in Manipur that someone approached the High Court for not getting monthly entitlement of kerosene Oil.

While passing the judgment yesterday, the court viewed that it was the bounden duty of the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West District who is responsible for implementation of the TPDS in Imphal West District, to consider and dispose of the representation.
