Atul Karval becomes first IPS officer to conquer Everst
Ahmedabad, May 22 (UNI) City Additional Traffic Police Commissioner Atul Karval, today became the first IPS officer in the country to scale the Mount Everest.
Mr Karval, along with nine other officials, climbed one of the most dreaded peaks of the world, early this morning. After conquering Mount Everest Mr Karval and his team hoisted the Indian Tricolour there. Soon after then, the news of his new achievement was relayed to Indian authorities and home department of Gujarat government.
Atul Karval, a 1988 Gujarat cadre IPS officer, has worked at various levels and at various places in Gujarat. His wife Ms Anita Karval was a collector in Rajkot and now she is a voter list observer with the Election Commission.
Congratulatory messages have been pouring in, since the news was broken to Mr Karval's family.
