3 killed, two injured, seven structures gutted in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) Two persons drowned, one was killed and two others injured while seven structures were gutted in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said.

They said one Afaq Ahmad Pall drowned in Sindh nalla in Ganderbal district.

A massive operation was going on to fish out the body.

However, body of one Mohammad Yousuf Ganie who drowned in River Vethu at Naina Sangam in Anantnag district was fished out by the police.

They said one person was killed on the spot when a truck on way to Srinagar from Jammu hit another truck at Barsoo on the highway last night.

In a separate incident, a girl was injured when a vehicle hit her at Akad Anantnag in south Kashmir while a 60-year-old woman, Fazi, was injured in a similar accident at Kulan Gandebal.

The injured were hospitalized.

Police said seven structures, including three shops were gutted in three different fire incidents at Karnah, Sogam and Cheerkote Kupwara.

No one was injured, sources said.
