Raj Govt announces liberal rehab package for blasts victims
Jaipur, May 21 (UNI) The Rajasthan Government has announced a rehabilitation and relief package for children who were orphaned in the May 13 serial bomb blasts or for those who have lost the earning members of the family in the incident.
Each orphaned child will get Rs 4,000 per month till the age of 21 as livelihood money and Rs 12,000 per annum for educational expenses for such school going child, Government Spokesman PWD Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said.
The educational expenses grant for higher education would be Rs 25,000 per annum and Rs 50,000 per annum for professional courses, he said.
Besides, an orpahned girl child would also get a Fixed Deposit of Rs 1 lakh which would be payable to her on attainment of majority.
While a woman who has lost her husband in the blast would get a livelihood pension of Rs 1,500 per month, Rs 1,500 per month would be provided for each dependent child.
The government would also provide Rs 50,000 to those interested in launching some self employment scheme, the Minister said.
The state government would also try to provide employment to one member of the bereaved family either in government service or in corporate sector.
The state govenrment has so far recieved contributions of Rs 10 crore in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the relief of the serial blasts victims.
As many as 66 persons were killed and over 210 injured in the serial blasts here on May 13.
The state government had already announced an ex-gratia of Rs five lakh to next of the kin of each deceased, Rs 1 lakh for those sustained critical injuries and Rs 25,000 for those with mild injuries.
Besides, the Centre has also announced a relief of Rs 1 lakh for next of kin of each deceased.
