Make maximum use of non-conventional energy: Goa CM

Panaji, May 21 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat today underscored the need to promote usage of non-conventional energy to ease pressure on conventional energy and set the task of creating awareness by initiating effective campaigns in this regard to bankers, financial institutions and other stake holders.

Mr Kamat was speaking at a day-long workshop, on accelerated promotion of solar heating system in domestic, industrial and commercial sector through sensitisation by banks, financial institutions and other stake holders. The workshop was organised by Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) at Goa Science Centre, here.

The Chief Minister also said Goa is marching ahead towards development, but the population has grown manifold. He said that with the rise in population, tremendous demand for water and power also is on rise. The solution to ease pressure on energy is to make maximum use of solar energy.
