Governor lauds NCC's community development programmes

Shimla, May 21 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje lauded the role of NCC in national development, preserving unity and integrity of the nation through its community development and social service programmes.

He was addressing the NCC contingents who participated in Republic Day Parade-2008 at New Delhi in 'At Home' ceremony held at Raj Bhawan here today.

"NCC represents the spirit of united and secular India. The centrally organised national level camps go a long way in fostering this spirit. They also inculcate a sense of patriotism and guide the youth in being worthy citizen of the future," Mr Kokje said.

The Governor also gave away prizes to the contingents of NCC of Himachal Pradesh on this occasion.
