Papiya murder case: Prosecution closes evidence

Patna, May 20: Prosecution evidence in the much hyped Professor Papiya Ghosh murder case was closed in a fast track court here today.

After producing 30 witnesses, Patna police closed its evidence in the court of fast track judge Omprakash.

The judge fixed May 24 for recording the statements of accused in the case. Altogether four persons were facing trial.

Papiya Ghosh, a Professor of History in Patna University, and her maid were killed during a dacoity in her house at Patliputra colony here in December 2006.

Meanwhile, the court issued show cause notice against the superintendent of Barh sub-jail for not producing Gyan Das, an accused in the case relating to the murder of Father Mathew at a missionary in Mokama.
