Need for better relations with Pakistan: Defence Minister

Panaji, May 20 (UNI) Defence Minister A K Antony today emphasised the need to have better ties with Pakistan.

Talking to reporters after commissioning an Advanced offshore Patrol Vessel 'Sankalp' of the Indian Coast Guard here, the Minister said the progress of any nation was dependent on its relations with neighbouring countries.

He said ''Pakistan is our immediate neighbour and it is imperative to have better relations with the country in the best interest of mutual relations.'' Mr Antony said India's friendship with Pakistan had increased in last two years, and the country was also working earnestly to have better ties with other nations as well.
