Finance company manager held in Rs 2 crore robbery case
Ludhiana, May 20 (UNI) The Punjab Police today took into custody the manager of Muthoot Finance and a local business for their involvement in the robbery of cash and gold jewellery, estimated to be around Rs 2.50 crore from the Millerganj Road branch of the company.
Addressing mediapersons here today, SSP R K Jaiswal said the two, Ritesh Pillay, Manager of the Millerganj branch and his businessman friend, S Aggarwal were taken into custody this morning on the bases of investigations. The two confessed to their crime and the cash and jewellery which they had divided was recovered from their possession.
The robbery was committed on Saturday night by the duo and it came to the notice of employees yesterday morning. The manager had used the keys in his possession to lock and unlock the front entrance of the branch office before and after committing the robbery, he added.
The two were arrested after the recovery of the loot from them.
