Dungeon dad 'cries himself to sleep'

London, May 20 : Austrian incest beast Josef Fritzl cries himself to sleep in prison, it has emerged.

The 73-year-old is said to be overcome with remorse for locking daughter Elisabeth away for 24 years with three of their kids. And he is worried how they are coping without him.

"He arrived arrogant and unrepentant but now he is a lonely, broken man," The Sun quoted a jail source, as saying.

On May 19 cops were conducting "scream tests" from the cellar in Amstetten, Austria.

They want to establish if Fritzl's wife Rosemarie, 69, or others upstairs could have heard the cellar family's cries for help.

Meanwhile, a lawyer for Elisabeth, 42, rubbished claims of a multi-million pound TV deal.
