Citizens and NGO oppose appointment of PMC auditor
Pune, May 20 (UNI) A group of prominent citizens and NGOs today objected to the appointment of Ambarish Galinde as Auditor of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Addressing a news conference here, former cabinet secretary B G Deshmukh said the official has been working as chief accountant in the PMC and should not be appointed as Auditor as he would not able to discharge his duties well. It is a bad precedent and will encourage corruption in the PMC.
He alleged that there was a delay in appointment of Auditor, and the Maharashtra government and PMC had not come clean on issue.
It was a violation of law.
