Centre to consider 90 per cent grant to education sector in J
Srinagar, May 20 (UNI) The Centre will consider the proposal of the Jammu and Kashmir government to grant 90 per cent central aid to the education sector.
This assurance was given by the Union Secretary for Education A K Rath to state secretary education G A Peer here.
Mr Rath said the proposal of the government to increase the central aid from present 65 per cent 90 per cent would be sympathetically considered.
Mr Rath urged upon the state education authorities to prepare a comprehensive plan for submitting the same to the centre stating therein the overall requirements for the education sector of the state.
The spokesman said the Union Secretary visited Pulwama and Anantnag districts in south Kashmir to take stock of the functioning of various educational institutions.
Expressing satisfaction over the functioning of these institutions, the Union Secretary assured of all possible assistance for developing more infrastructure for the Education sector and to modernize education system in the Jammu and Kashmir.
