Brunei Sultan arrives; Investments to get boost
New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) Brunei Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah arrived here today on a three-day visit that is expected to strengthen the trade relations with India as the two countries would sign an agreement on bilateral investment and protection and three other MoUs in different areas.
The other agreements would cover the areas of information and communication technology, culture, arts, mass media and sports.
Tomorrow, the Sultan would hold talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and call on President Pratibha Devisingh Patil.
Among others who would meet him are Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Defence Minister A K Antony, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
The President would host a banquet in his honour.
The Sultan would visit ISRO at Bangalore on May 23 before flying back to Brunei.
