Baramullah, May 19: Two people were electrocuted and three others injured critically when a high-tension wire fell on them at Bandy Uri, about 45 km from here, this morning.

The dead were identified as Hafizullah and Abdul Karam. The injured were admitted to hospital in critical condition. Later, people of the area took to the streets and protested against the incident, demanding action against power Development Department (PDD) officials.

The demonstrators also blocked the main road.
