Record 52.51 lakh mt wheat arrival in Haryana Mandis

Chandigarh, May 19 (UNI) A record 52.51 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived so far in the mandis during current rabi season till yesterday.

An official spokesman said here today that out of the total, 51.81 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was procured by the Government procuring agencies while only 69,968 metric tonnes wheat was procured by the traders which was about one per cent of the total procurement of wheat during this season.

Enumerating the wheat procurement, he said that 10.71 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was procured by Food and Supplies Department, 19.16 lakh metric tonnes by Hafed, 7.81 lakh by Food Corporation of India (FCI), 4.55 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Agro Industries, 4.83 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 4.72 lakh metric tonnes by Confed.

While giving details about the arrival of wheat in mandis, he said that district Sirsa was leading where 7.60 lakh metric tonnes of wheat was arrived in mandis followed by Karnal with 6.02 lakh metric tonnes.

He said that 5.83 lakh metric tonnes wheat was arrived in district Fatehabad, 5.49 lakh metric tonnes in Kaithal, 5.47 lakh metric tonnes in Jind, 4.62 lakh metric tonnes in Kurukshetra, 3.44 lakh metric tonnes in Hisar, 2.76 lakh metric tonnes in Faridabad, 2.25 lakh metric tonnes in Panipat, 2.03 lakh metric tonnes in Sonipat, 1.61 lakh metric tonnes in Ambala, 1.31 lakh metric tonnes in Yamunanagar, 1.07 lakh metric tonnes in Rohtak, 80,828 metric tonnes in Bhiwani, 69,216 metric tonnes in Mewat, 41,295 metric tonnes in Gurgaon, 40,380 metric tonnes in Rewari, 28,942 metric tonnes in Jhajjar, 19,495 metric tonnes in Panchkula and 16,577 metric tonnes in Narnaul.
