Newly-appointed DGP assumes charge

Bhopal, May 19 (UNI) Newly-appointed Director General of Police S K Raut today assumed charge at a plain function held at the Police Headquarters in the state capital.

Prior to taking charge from outgoing DGP Anand Rao Puar, who has been posted as DGP (Jails), Mr Raut was accorded guard of honour.

Earlier, Mr Raut handed over the charge of DGP (State's Economic Offences Wing) to Additional DGP S S Lal.

Stressing on the need for more proximity between public and police, Mr Raut hoped to receive more support from the outgoing DGP.
