NCP demands high level inquiry into panchayat member's killing
Patna, May 18 (UNI) The NCP today demanded thorough probe into the killing of panchayat member Phekan Pundit in police custody at Bhagwanpur police station in Vaishali district two days ago.
Bihar NCP president Upendra Kushwaha told reporters here Phekan was called by the police from his residence on Friday night and later he was found dead at a local hospital the following day.
It was a cold blood murder by the police, he alleged and demanded that the Nitish Kumar government order thorough probe into the case by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police (Muzaffarpur-range).
''The Bihar government has ordered inquiry into the case by Police Superintendent of Vaihali,'' Mr Kushwaha said, adding it was not enough and a thorough probe by the DIG could unravel the truth in this regard.
