NC Hills chief blames state govt for violence
Guwahati, May 18 (UNI) The head of the North Cachar (NC) Hills Autonomous District Council (NCHADC) today accused the state government of conspiring the prevailing violence in the district.
''The state government doesn't want peace in the NC Hills and is responsible for the situation,'' Chief Executive Member (CEM) of NCHADC D Hojai told reporters here.
He pointed at a ''conspiracy'' behind the bloodshed, which had left at least 25 people dead, including railway men and Dimasa militants since last week.
Mr Hojai alleged that the state government, which was responsible for the law and order in the autonomous district, did not coordinate with the Council, which further worsened the situation.
