Flights affected due to thunderstorm in city

Kolkata, May 18 (UNI) Two Kolkata-bound flights, had to be diverted to different places due to thunderstorm over the region this evening.

An Allaince Air flight from Agartala to Kolkata was sent to Bhubaneswar and another from Dhaka was diverted. Both flights had almost reached Kolkata before being turned away as heavy winds and low visibility made landing unsafe here, airport official said.
