Cong demands arrest of BJP leader for attack on scribe
Patna, May 18 (UNI) Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) today demanded immediate arrest of Virendra Jha, media in-charge of the state BJP, accused of thrashing a journalist of a private news channel.
Chief spokesman of the BPCC Prem Chandra Mishra said here despite being a named accused in a criminal case relating to attack on a scribe, Jha was roaming free due to political patronage given by the BJP.
''It is unfortunate that Jha was not arrested despite committing serious offence of thrashing a journalist'', Mr Mishra said, adding it was an indication of hollowness of the NDA government's claim of providing good governance in Bihar.
Mr Jha was involved in thrashing a scribe during a dhrana organised by the BJP at Samastipur yesterday. The scribe is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
