Advani urges people to bring single party to power
Hubli, May 18 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today called upon the people of Karnataka to bring a single party to power instead of a fractured verdict in the election to the state Assembly.
Addressing a BJP rally at Nehru Ground here, he stressed the need to stop the role of money and muscle power in the election and pleaded for more poll reforms.
Taking a dig at the UPA government, Mr Advani said on May 21, the Central government would complete four years in power and step into the final year that is the election year. The Congress, which came to power on 'Aam Adami' mantra, has totally spoiled the budget of middle class with high prices of essential commodities.
The senior BJP leader claimed his party would come to power in the coming Lok Sabha elections also, if it was voted to power in Karnataka. ''Karnataka would pave the way for us to win elections in Delhi also,'' he added.
On Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's remark over handing over 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blast's accused Dawood Ibrahim, Mr Advani said the judiciary had already pronounced him as a proclaimed offender. Interpol agency and the American government had also declared him an international terrorist. What more proof the Pakistan premier needed, he asked.
