Several injured in train accident in north Bihar
Motihari, May 17 (UNI) About ten people were injured when a locomotive dashed against a stationary passenger train at Sugauli Junction under Muzaffarpur-Narkatiaganj section of East Central Railway this evening, Railway sources said.
However, reports said at least one person was killed and about 50 were injured in the accident.
All the injured had been admitted to a local hospital, where the condition of at least 24 was stated to be critical.
After the incident, agitated passengers ransacked the station master's office. But soon Railway police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The accident took place when a diesel engine, being shunted to the nearby railway yard, rammed the stationary local passenger train from behind at about 1730 hrs, the sources added.
