LCI opens its area office and collection centre in city
Mysore, May 17 (UNI) Life Cell International, pioneers in stem cell banking, research and therapy in India, announced the launch of its area office and collection centre in the city for umbilical cord blood steam cell banking.
Speaking to newsmen S Abhya Kumar, Vice Chairman of the company said that the company has a state-of-the-art stem cell processing and banking facility near Chennai conforming to the standards laid by American Association of blood banks.
With an existing base of over 30 centers across Asia, lifecell is now increasing its network in the country.
As a part of this expansion activity, by the year 2009, the company plans to have over 50 centres to cater to the growing Indian market for stem cell banking, he said.
Stating that being the pioneers in umbilical cord blood stem cell banking in the country, it has the responsibility to offer this service to the parents in cities like Mysore for them to utilize this once in a life time opportunity.
