Kodagu gearing up for counting of votes

Madikeri, Karnataka, May 17(UNI) The District Administration is gearing up for counting of votes polled in the first phase of elections on May 10.

A special meeting was held here today by the Deputy Commissioner K R Niranjan, who is also the District Electoral Officer and asked the election officers to see that a flawless counting was undertaken on May 25-counting day.

He has directed them to instruct the counting staff about their duties.

According to a release, the counting of 14 EVMs would be done at a time and the report would be given to the Election Observers who would check the counting and do random checking of two machines to ensure perfection.

Elaborate security arrangements are made around the counting centre. Anyone entering the counting point will have to pass through three security check points.
