Govt warns of termination for irregularities under NREGA
Lucknow, May 17 (UNI) Taking serious note of irregularities committed under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), the Uttar Pradesh government today warned of immediate termination of the guilty employees.
While addressing a NREGA workshop here, Rural Development Minister Dahu Prasad said employees found guilty of committing irregularities under the scheme would be sacked with immediate effect.
Expressing concern over the scarcity of water in drought-hit Bundelkhand region, he stressed upon implementation of water schemes and plantation works with priority.
He lauded the state government for increasing labour cost from Rs 58 to Rs 100 per day.
''The government is planning to induct diploma holders also as technical staff as NREGA is lacking of technical staff,'' the Minister apprised.
