State govt keen to develop cottage and small industries in Bihar

Saharsa, May 16(UNI) The Bihar government is contemplating to establish cottage and small scale industries in order to provide job opportunities to the people and check their migration in search of livelihood.

Addressing a public meeting here yesterday, Bihar Industry Minister Dinesh Chandra Yadav said special efforts were being made to promote and develop the cottage as well as small scale industries across the state.

He said the government was taking serious steps to check migration and concentrating on industrialisation which would open new vistas in the state.

The minister said Industry Centres (Udyog Bhavan) would be established in all districts.

He further stated that tool room training centres were being set up in Saharasa, Bhagalpur and Chapra for skill enhancement of the youths who would be trained to manufacture the tools used in the cottage and small scale industries.

An ITI would soon be set up in Saharsa at an estimated expenditure of Rs 43 lakh, he said, adding that the government was also considering revival of the Baidyanath Paper Mill.
