Precious metals close high

Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Both precious metals ended high today with silver advancing by Rs 290 per kg and gold by Rs 310 per ten gm on sustained buying in line with firm global trend, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following were the closing rates of spot silver and gold: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 23,760 (23,470) Gold (per 10 gm): Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 12,225 (11,915) Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 12,280 (11,970).
