One kg heroin, fake currency recovered in Punjab
Amritsar, May 16 (UNI) The Punjab Police today nabbed two smugglers and recovered one kg heroin and Rs three lakh from their possession.
The duo, identified as Talwinder of Naraingarh village and Mukhtiar of Naushera Dhalla village were nabbed in Chheratta town.
It is believed that they are linked to certain smugglers presently lodged at the Central Jail here.
A release issued by the police stated that the heroin and the currency was smuggled from across the border. Further investigations are being conducted in the case.
Both the smugglers were later arrested under the NDPS Act and section 489 of the IPC.
