Integrated technology can be met through research, innovation
Mysore, May 16 (UNI) Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) Director, V Prakash today said integrated technology can be met only through valid research and innovation partnerships.
In his presidential address at the 'National Technology Day' celebrated at CFTRI here, Dr Prakash said the new developments in food processing were geared into the next generation of technology for health and wellness. ''India has done it in IT and Biotechnology to a large extent, and why not in Food Technology. A large amount of agricultural resources facing many restrictions for utilisation do not get converted into value added products,'' he added.
He said when it comes to food processing the big question is from where to begin despite tremendous amount of concern. ''In this regard the government, people, R and D institutions, food industries and the market play a very critical role. The supply chain from rural to urban, the national to the global market and linking farmers to market all becomes very vital.'' UNI BSP GKT 1456
