DD, Srinagar to telecast programmes for all age groups

Srinagar, May 16 (UNI) The Doordarshan Kendra, Srinagar, has decided to bring an innovative change in the programmes by making them interesting, educative, informative and popular.

''Our endeavor would be to catapult the graph of public viewing of DD by telecasting programmes of interest to all categories and age groups, decorating them with high quality entertainment'', DD director Dr Rafiq Masoodi said at an Advisory Committee meeting here today.

Explaining about the new programmes proposed to be incorporated in the point chart he said as many as 14 new programmes would be telecast from the Kendra shortly which will cover various groups, sections and cultures of the society, focusing on youth, women, education and environment.

He said public interest subjects including folk music and musical game shows, besides programmes on science, humorous shows and shows on ''Sachi Zindagi'' and ''Safarnama'' would form the part of new schedule.
