Customs foil bid to smuggle computer equipment at airport

Kochi, May 16 (UNI) Customs officials at the Nedumbaserry International Airport near here today foiled an attempt by a Keralite coming from Dubai to smuggle computer equipment worth Rs seven lakh out of the airport.

Customs sources said John, a resident of Alappuzha district, had arrived on an Emriates flight from Dubai and was trying to take out the computer equipment without proper declaration.

The Customs imposed a fine and penalty on him before releasing the consignment.
