Curfew lifted after 2 days in Jaipur; situation normal

Jaipur, May 16 (UNI) The day curfew in force in the walled city areas here in the wake of Tuesday's serial blasts was lifted today as the situation returned to normal.

In view of the prevailing peace and normalcy, the district administration has lifted the curfew imposed for the past two days as a precautionary measure, an official spokesman told UNI here.

However, prohibitory orders under section 144 would remain in force till May 21 evening, he added.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had yesterday clarified that in total nine blasts occurred on Tuesday while one live bomb was defused by the police.

The state government constituted four-member Special Intestigation Team (SIT), headed by senior IPS Laxman Meena, along with other central agencies like NSG and IB, is investigating the the claims and video clippings e-mailed by Guru-al-Hindi of Indian Mujhahideen, which claimed respsonsibilty of the serial explosions.

Sketches of four suspects, who are believed to have bought bicycles from cycle stores in Kishanpol Bazar, have been released by the police.

Investigation teams have also been sent to Lucknow, Indore and Kolkata to substantiate initial leads emerging from the investigation.

The explosions had killed at least 63 people and injured 216 others.
