Company dismisses engineer for accepting bribe
Hyderabad, May 16 (UNI) The Singareni Collieries Company today dismissed its Superintending Engineer, working at Bhupalapalli in Warangal district, following his conviction by the ACB court in a bribery case.
The Engineer Y Bala Subramanya Swamy was arrested by the ACB when he accepted Rs 5,000 as bribe from a complainant on May 15, 2003, an official release said here.
In another bribe case, the Special Judge for ACB cases, Visakhapatnam, convicted a Public Health Municipal Assistant Engineer at Saluru in Vizianagaram district and sentenced him for six-months rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500.
The accused P Ramalingeswara Rao was caught redhanded when he accepted Rs 3,000 as bribe from a complainant, the release said.
