Bangalore, May 15(UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested two persons including an village accountant for accepting bribe for showing an official favour.
A Lokayukta press said that Subash Narayan Solanki, a first division clerk in Primary Health Centre of Bijapur Taluk had demanded Rs 20,000 as a bribe from Ashok Vittal Gaikwad of Bijapur to disburse the increment arrears amount of Rs 64,293 to the Gaikwad's mother.
But after bargaining, he agreed to accept Rs 5,000.
Today, after a well laid trap, Solanki was caught red handed while accepting the bribe money.
In another incident, a village accountant Fablin Joseph was arrested while accepting the bribe of Rs 500 from Nagaraju of Channapatna taluk to issue a small landholder certificate. Earlier, he had demanded Rs 1,000. He had already taken Rs 500 from Nagaraju.
